Sheriff Tommy Ford ran unopposed for the
Office of Sheriff, which was vacated by retiring Sheriff Frank McKeithen. Sheriff Ford had an overwhelming support from the employees of the Bay County Sheriff's Office, indicating their trust in him to lead them into the future.
Sheriff Ford is a 23 year veteran of law enforcement. During that time, he worked for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement before retiring as the Resident Agent In Charge of the FDLE Panama City Field Office.
Sheriff Ford received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of West Florida, and is a graduate of the 258th session of the FBI National Academy.
