The Beach Patrol is comprised of six deputies whose main responsibility is patrolling the 18 miles of beach within Bay County.  The unit responds to calls for service on the sandy beach utilizing 4WD vehicles and PWC's.

Each member of this unit is USLA certified in water rescue and responds to calls for swimmers in distress and other water-related emergencies.  The unit also helps educate visitors on the flag warning system, the dangers of swimming during red flag conditions and enforcing no swimming during double red flag conditions.
