The Warrants Division is a three part operation under the direction of Captain Greg Peel.  It consists of Warrants service officers, in house Deputies, and the Transportation section.

In 2005 the Warrants officers served in excess of 10,000 court criminal documents.  These officers are tasked with the duties to locate and arrest wanted persons residing in Bay County.  These warrants may be issued in local courts or the courts of other counties and states.

The In-House Deputies are Deputies assigned to insure the transactions between the court system and the jail is conducted correctly.  This year these Deputies collected over 1.5 million dollars in bonds, fines, and purges for the court.  These Deputies took over 10,000 inmates to court for their first appearance before a local judge.  The In-House Deputies are also responsible for running breath tests on suspected driving under the influence defendants.  The Deputies ran 275 of these tests in 2005.  In addition they took the fingerprints of more than 1150 persons who were applying for jobs that require background checks or of persons who must register as convicted felons in our County.

The transportation Deputies transported over 1500 prisoners to serve state time at the Florida Department of Corrections, or to be brought back to Bay County for other court cases.  They traveled over 125,000 miles in the year of 2005.
