The Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office, 14th Judicial Circuit announces the arrest of five individuals operating without proper contracting licensing in the state of Florida.
Yesterday, December 13, 2018, the CUFF (Citizens United Fighting Fraud) task force conducted investigations into the activity of several companies that did not have contractor’s licenses but were giving estimates for contracting work. Agencies participating in the task force are The Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the State Attorney’s Office, 14th Judicial Circuit, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Department of Business and Professional Regulations, the Panama City Police Department, and the Lynn Haven Police Department.
Those arrested as a result of the operation were Christopher James Thomas, age 42, of Nevada; Jonas Storm Berry, age 27, of Texas. Both Thomas and Berry were arrested by the Lynn Haven Police Department. Also arrested were Kayla Marie Pierce, age 21, of Jacksonville; Daniel Robert Guidry, age 29, of Jacksonville; and Jose Alan Gonzalez-Vargas. All were charged with Engaging in Contracting W/O a License During State of Emergency. All were taken to the Bay County Jail for booking.
