REMINDER FOR THOSE USING ECON FINA CREEK

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office issued a reminder today to those using watercraft on Econfina Creek in the area known as the Econfina Creek control area.

Due to the danger to swimmers, watercraft in the area of Econfina Creek north of Hwy. 388 (Econfina Creek control area) can’t use a motor of more than 10 horsepower. Jet Skis and waverunners are not allowed at all in the Econfina Creek control area.

Bay County Ordinance 92-04 states those in violation can be punished “…by a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding 60 days or by both such fine and imprisonment”.
