The Support Services Division

The Support Services Division operates under the command of two highly experienced law enforcement leaders—Lieutenant John Corley and Lieutenant James Williams—who collectively bring more than sixty years of service and specialized expertise to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

As a specialty division, Support Services is dedicated to supporting and strengthening all operational components of the Sheriff’s Office. The division provides essential administrative, technical, and logistical functions that enable deputies and staff to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

The division is comprised of the following sections:

Records Section

The Records Section ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all reports generated by patrol deputies. This section works closely with the State Attorney’s Office by providing case management support, communicates with defense attorneys, and fulfills public records requests in compliance with Florida law.

Facility Management

Facility Management personnel are responsible for preventative maintenance and daily operational upkeep across Sheriff’s Office campuses.

Duties include painting, landscaping, electrical work, plumbing, and other maintenance tasks necessary to ensure safe and functional facilities.

Public Fingerprinting

The Public Fingerprinting Section provides scheduled fingerprinting services for members of the public who require prints for employment, firearm licensing, and other non-criminal purposes.

Fleet & Vehicle Maintenance

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office maintains a fleet of more than 400 vehicles, boats, trailers, ATVs, and other mobile equipment. The Fleet & Vehicle Maintenance Section operates a full-service automotive shop capable of performing in-house maintenance and repairs.

The section also includes a paint and body shop that rebuilds and restores damaged or wrecked vehicles. This section is managed by Mr. Chris Edmundson.

Homeland Security

The Homeland Security Section works directly with state and federal partners to ensure critical and sensitive information is shared quickly and securely.

Members of this section actively participate in the statewide Domestic Security Task Force, supporting coordinated efforts to protect the community and critical infrastructure.

The Bay County Bomb Squad also falls into this section.

Information Systems

The Information Systems Section provides comprehensive technical support to Sheriff’s Office personnel and partner agencies throughout the region. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office designs, develops, and maintains its own Records Management System (RMS), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Jail Management System (JMS), and other critical software platforms, which are also shared with surrounding agencies.

The Sheriff’s Office operates on a countywide fiber-optic network, allowing secure, seamless connectivity and real-time information sharing across the county. The Information Systems Section is responsible for managing:

  • An extensive network of IP cameras monitoring the main office, substations, courthouse, and Bay County Jail
  • More than 500 desktop and laptop computers
  • A countywide fiber ring interconnected through encrypted VPN tunnels
  • Numerous servers that host applications and archive records
