This morning, our deputies responded to a fire at ZooWorld, working side by side with our public safety partners to protect lives and property. We’re sharing body-worn camera footage from Corporal Pierce, which shows the response as it unfolded. In the video, you’ll see Corporal Pierce doing an excellent job directing emergency personnel and helping ensure everyone knew exactly what needed to be done in a rapidly evolving situation.
This was a true team effort, and we’re grateful for the quick, professional response from Bay County Fire and Rescue, The Panama City Beach Police Department, and all agencies involved.
Our thoughts are with the staff at ZooWorld during this difficult time, and especially with the animals that were lost in the fire. We appreciate the dedication of all first responders who worked tirelessly this morning under challenging circumstances.
